Certified Cheques

A certified cheque is guaranteed by the Credit Union that there is sufficient funds to cover payment of the cheque.

Features

• Guarantees payment to the person named on the cheque.
• Funds are taken from the member’s account immediately and held in a General Ledger account until the cheque clears.
• Available to the member only at their own branch.
• N.S.F. cheques must be certified to be re-cleared.
• A certified cheque does not stale date.
• Can be replaced if lost by getting member to sign a Bond of Indemnity
