Term Expires: April 2025		 Gordon Dearsley was heavily involved in lobbying to get a credit union to expand to Baldur when the only financial institution in the community closed its branch. As a result, he learned a lot about how the credit union system operates throughout that process.

After graduating with a degree in Business Administration from Red River College, Gordon began working for a large public utility in Winnipeg as an accountant. They handled over $30 Million of transactions per month. He then worked for a rural municipality in Manitoba, where he earned a diploma in Municipal Administration before becoming the CAO, a position he held for 20 years. Gordon was head-hunted by a firm from Toronto looking for someone to spearhead their financial operations in the next phase of his career. As a result, they began an expansion phase and went from three to nine businesses during my tenure.

Upon returning to rural Manitoba, Gordon was the Financial Officer for a not-for-profit organization in charge of vulnerable individuals before taking the required education to become a Life Insurance Advisor and switching his career path to more of a sales role with a strong financial component.

Gordon grew up on a small mixed farm and has been involved with many local sports teams and community groups. His varied work experience and constant education upgrades provide him with the skills to benefit the Board of Directors for Sunrise Credit Union.
