Sunrise Credit Union’s 9th Annual General Meeting

(April 25th, 2017) Brandon, Manitoba – Sunrise Credit Union held its 9th Annual General Meeting in Cypress River, MB last night with 111 members present. The 2016 Annual Report was released outlining Sunrise Credit Union’s financials and how it plays a part in making our communities better, stronger and more vibrant.

President and CEO, Tim Klassen, reported the financial highlights for 2016 which included a Deposit Growth of 3.11%, Loan Growth of 3.51%, Net Income of $4.2 million, Member Equity of $63.8 million and Total Assets of $896 million.

Community impact highlights for 2016 included the efforts of Sunrise Credit Union staff fundraising over $52,300, volunteering over 6,470 hours of their personal time and corporate contributions in excess of $150,000 towards helping our communities and community organizations deliver services that benefit our members.

Three Directors, Karen Combs, Daryll Logeot and Fred Greig were re-elected by acclamation to their positions and Penny Johnson was elected following due process for nominations to the Sunrise Credit Union Board of Directors.

Two additional Board members, Ron Myers and Roger Palmer, were welcomed to the board upon the merger of Grandview Credit Union into Sunrise, effective May 1st, 2017.

Twenty-eight staff members were recognized for their dedication to the Credit Union System through the presentation of awards, spanning 5-30 years of service.
