Banking System Merger Weekend

Earlier this year, Sunrise and Grandview Credit Unions announced their intention to amalgamate as one of the ways to provide more products and better rates for members.

The final step in the amalgamation process is the banking system merger which is scheduled to take place Friday, September 15th – Sunday, September 17th and will temporarily affect the following services from approximately 5:00pm on Friday until late afternoon on Sunday:

•    ATM & Debit Card Transactions
•    Online, Mobile & Telephone Banking
•    E-Transfers (Grandview members only, September 9th- 17th)
•    Automatic bill payments

This is an enormous undertaking and our dedicated merger team is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition.  Please take the time to read this information so that you can make necessary plans during the banking system merger weekend.

ATM & Debit Card Transactions

You may experience service disruptions including ATM & Point of Sale (debit card) transactions.  Please have an alternate method of payment available during this time.

Online, Mobile & Telephone Banking

Online, Mobile & Telephone banking will be unavailable starting at 5:00 pm on Friday, September 15th until possibly late afternoon on Sunday, September 17.

GRANDVIEW MEMBERS NOTE:  The address for online banking will change as a result of the merger.  Please be sure to update your bookmarks with the new online banking link.

To login to online banking after the merge is complete on Sunday, September 17, visit https://www.sunrisecu.mb.ca/ and enter your card number in the field below the blue “Secure Login” tab to login.  

You will be required to enter a temporary password (PAC) the first time you log into MemberDirect as of Sunday, September 17.  The temporary PAC will be set to the last 5 digits of your MemberCard.  If you have multiple MemberCards, the temporary PAC will be set to the HIGHEST numbered ACTIVE card number.

You will then be prompted to enter a new PAC of your choice.  

INTERAC E-Transfers (Grandview members only)

Grandview members will need to re-enroll for INTERAC e-Transfer and recreate their recipients post merge, on the MemberDirect site.  INTERAC e-Transfer history will also be lost. Print off any recipient information you will require prior to September 15th. No new e-transfers will be able to be created or received after September 8th until merge is complete.

Automatic bill payments

Bill payments cannot be set up on on-line banking from 5:00 pm on Friday, September 15th until possibly late afternoon on Sunday, September 17.

Online bill payments scheduled to come out of your account between Friday, September 15th – Sunday, September 17th will be processed upon completion of the merge.
