President & CEO Tim Klassen and Marketing Manager Terri Roulette McCartney accept Sunrise's AIM AwardMay 8, 2019

Brandon, Manitoba...Sunrise Credit Union was presented with an Achievement In Marketing (AIM) Award at the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) National Conference in Winnipeg earlier this week.

Canada’s credit unions have always played a significant role in the well-being of the communities they serve. The CCUA recognizes and rewards these accomplishments through an annual awards program that acknowledges credit unions that exemplify the true nature of the cooperative spirit.

The Awards showcase the most impressive, effective and creative marketing and communications campaigns in the credit union system. Winning an AIM Award requires a balance of quality ideas, outstanding execution and tangible results.

Sunrise was presented with an AIM in Division Two of the Business and Building Acquisition category for The Great Bicycle Giveaway contest. The contest encouraged youth to start saving early while learning the ins and outs of depositing money, collecting interest and saving for their future. Each branch held their own separate contest, giving multiple children a chance to win, with Sunrise paying up to $250 towards the purchase of a new bicycle.  To view the winning submission, click here.

The overall objective was the acquisition of new account holders and increasing deposits into HeadStart accounts with 43 new HeadStart accounts and a balance increase of nearly $275,000 in new deposits during the campaign. The campaign also gained a reach of 5,324 on Facebook with 41 shares and 413 engagements.
