Brandon, Manitoba – Last year, Sunrise and Strathclair Credit Unions announced their intention to amalgamate as one of the ways to provide more products and better rates for members.

The final step in the amalgamation process is the banking system merger, which is scheduled to take place Friday, September 20th through to Sunday, September 22nd.

This is a large undertaking, and our dedicated merger team is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition.

However, the following services could be temporarily affected during the merger weekend for all members:

  • ATM and Debit Card transactions (authorizations will be based on Offline limits)
  • Bill payments
  • E-Transfers (this service will be unavailable for Strathclair members from Sept. 15-22)
  • Online Banking

Members should plan ahead, and ensure they have alternate payment methods available during the merger weekend including cash, cheques and credit cards.

One change Strathclair members will experience is that some of their account names will change to match Sunrise account names. A letter outlining these changes was direct mailed to each member, and handouts outlining the account name changes will be available at the branches. It can also be accessed by clicking here.

We appreciate our members taking the time to familiarize themselves with this information so that you can make any necessary plans needed during our banking system merger weekend from Friday, September 20th through to Sunday, September 22nd.

If you require more information, contact your local branch.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we continue Building a Brighter Future Together.
