People of Sunrise Grant ProgramApril 22, 2020
For Immediate Release

During difficult times, the ones who need help the most can be overlooked. Sunrise Credit Union has launched a temporary initiative where a small amount can make a big difference.

If your non-profit organization requires assistance to provide emergency relief in your community, we want to hear from you! Our aim is to help those struggling during the current health and economic crisis, both at the demand and the supply ends of the chain.

Sunrise is looking to partner with non-profit organizations and businesses to fill needs in our communities, multiplying the positive impact.

“Part of Sunrise Credit Union’s mission has always been to give back to the communities we serve, putting rubber on the road and meat on the streets, so to speak.” said Sunrise’s VP of Wealth and Marketing Tayona Johnas, “We feel this is a win-win scenario, supporting both non-profit organizations and businesses negatively impacted by the health and economic crisis. We’re proud to be able to provide additional resources to help in our communities during this critical time.”

Guidelines for the Helping People of Sunrise Grant include:

  • The organization must be a not-for-profit.
  • Funding used to meet essential needs (food, clothing, shelter) during the pandemic.
  • Organizations that use local businesses to procure goods and services given preference.

Organizations will be required to fill out a grant application. The deadline to submit grant applications is April 30.

Applications can be emailed to community@sunrisecu.mb.ca or mailed to:
