– Last year, the Sunrise and Minnedosa Credit Unions announced their intention to amalgamate to provide more products and better rates for members.

The amalgamation process's final step is the banking system merger, scheduled to occur Friday, November 20 through to Sunday, November 22.

This merger is a massive undertaking, and our dedicated merger team is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition.

However, the following services will be temporarily affected during the merger weekend for all members:

  • ATM and Debit Card transactions
  • Bill payments
  • E-Transfers
  • Online Banking

Members are encouraged to plan ahead to ensure they have alternate payment methods available during the merger weekend, including cash, cheques and credit cards. You are encouraged to copy your eTransfer recipients and history and your account nicknames. You will need to re-enter these on your new login after the merge.

Your Minnedosa MemberCard will no longer be valid as of 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20. Your new Sunrise Credit Union MemberCard can be used as of Monday, November 23.

One change Minnedosa members will experience is that some of their account names will change to match Sunrise account names. A letter that outlined these changes was mailed directly to each member, and handouts outlining the account name changes will be available at the branches. You can also access the information here.

We appreciate our members taking the time to familiarize themselves with this information so that you can make any necessary plans needed during our banking system merger weekend from Friday, November 20 through to Sunday, November 22.
