Westman Critical Care on the Air Radiothon

Critical Care on the air Radiothon - June 17 on BOUNCE & PURE COUNTRY.

Sunrise Credit Union presents the Westman Critical Care on the Air Radiothon to support the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS).

STARS is a Canadian non-profit helicopter air ambulance organization funded by government contributions and service groups, and corporate and individual donors. They provide rapid and specialized emergency care and transportation for critically ill and injured patients.

When a life is on the line and every second counts, the STARS air ambulance is there for Western Manitoba.

Since STARS began operating full-time in Manitoba in 2011, the service has been deployed 4,600 times, including 520 times to Western Manitoba.

Operational costs are approximately $10.5 million annually per base. This amount includes staffing, education programs, specialized medical and aviation equipment, aircraft fuel and maintenance, base operations, and capital expenses.

The Westman Critical Care on the Air Radiothon will be airing on BOUNCE 96.1 and PURE COUNTRY 101.1 on Thursday, June 17, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please tune in to learn more about the importance of STARS life-saving services from crew members, allies, and, most importantly, STARS patients and their family members.

There are three ways you can contribute on the 17th:

Each dollar raised stays in Manitoba and will help ensure that the next time you, or someone you love needs STARS, they will be there.
