Sandy Lake is just southwest of Riding Mountain National Park. It is in the Rural Municipality of Harrison Park, approximately 95 kilometres north of Brandon.

A tourist destination, Sandy Lake’s population swells during the summer months with the arrival of cottagers who own lakefront property and use the lake for recreational purposes.

The nine-hole golf course is another summer attraction while Sandy Lake is home to Western Days every August.

Sandy Lake Credit Union was formed in 1952. It merged with Sunrise Credit Union on May 1, 2014.
