    It is essential to stay informed regarding your personal banking. Regular awareness of your recent transactions, account balances and other security features ensures you are well-prepared for future transactions and helps safeguard your financial security.

    With Sunrise Credit Union’s Online Banking, members can opt-in to receive real-time alerts for a variety of activities. These alerts include security, balance updates, account activity, payments, and investment notifications. The alerts are sent via text message or email.

    Security Alerts

    There is no shortage of fraud in today’s world, and taking additional steps to maintain your online security is more crucial than ever. By enrolling in security alerts through Sunrise Credit Union’s Online Banking platform, you can effectively monitor your accounts and identify suspicious activity. All the Direct Alerts are beneficial for your day-to-day banking needs, however, it is strongly recommended that you sign up for security alerts. The security alerts available include:

    New Payee Added

    • You will receive an alert when a new payee is added to your online banking and will be prompted to verify this action before it goes through.
    • Why sign up for this alert? This alert ensures that a scammer cannot add an unknown payee to your online banking to send your funds.

    Personal Access Code (PAC) Changed

    • You will receive an alert when your online banking personal access code (PAC) changes. You will be prompted to verify this action before it goes through.
    • Why sign up for this alert? This alert prevents unauthorized attempts to change your Personal Access Code (PAC), safeguarding your access and protecting you from potential account lockout by scammers.

    Online Banking Account Locked Out – Incorrect response to Login Verification

    • You will receive an alert if your online banking account becomes locked due to the maximum number of failed login attempts. To regain access, you must confirm that you initiated the login attempts before the account can be unlocked.
    • Why sign up for this alert? This alert will inform you if someone tries logging into your account with incorrect passwords.

    Online Login

    • You will receive an alert each time an online login occurs, allowing you to verify the login.
    • Why sign up for this alert? This alert will let you know if someone has successfully accessed your online banking. If a scammer does gain access, you can quickly log in and change your password. If you receive an alert during business hours, you may contact your local branch and request a temporary freeze on your online banking access.

    Balance and Activity Alerts

    In addition to security alerts, Sunrise Credit Union offers balance and activity alerts that enable you to monitor your account balances, withdrawals, and deposits.

    Balance Report (daily, weekly or monthly)

    • You will receive daily, weekly or monthly alerts reflecting the information available in your online banking account.

    Generic Balance Report (daily, weekly or monthly)

    • You will receive daily, weekly or monthly alerts of your balance. You can choose to view either your current balance or available balance in these notifications.

    Low Balance

    • You will receive an alert when your balance falls below the specified amount.

    Deposit

    • You will receive an alert when any deposit is made to your account.

    Withdrawal

    • You will receive an alert for any withdrawals made from your account.

    Interac e-Transfer contact added

    • You will receive an alert when a new Interac e-Transfer ® contact is added to your account, prompting you to verify the action.

    ATM Balance Inquiry

    • You will receive an alert whenever a balance inquiry is made on your account at an ATM, prompting you to verify the action.

    Payment Alerts

    Payment alerts are a valuable tool for ensuring your payments are processed as scheduled and avoiding charges for insufficient funds.

    Scheduled Payment or Transfer May Fail

    • You will receive an alert if a scheduled payment or transfer is at risk of ailing due to insufficient funds. You can transfer funds into that account before the scheduled withdrawal to avoid an insufficient funds charge.

    Insufficient Funds

    • You will receive an alert when your account is overdrawn or a line of credit has been overextended.

    Scheduled Payment Failed and Scheduled Transfer Failed

    • You will receive an alert when a scheduled payment or transfer fails. This allows you to take corrective action immediately.

    Investment Alerts

    Never miss a loan or mortgage payment; always know when your products are maturing with investment alerts.

    Loan or Mortgage Payment Due

    • You will receive an alert when a loan or mortgage payment is approaching its due date.

    Loan/Mortgage Maturing

    • You will receive an alert when your loan or mortgage is approaching maturity.
