Protect Your Accounts with Two-Step Authentication

Sunrise Credit Union is committed to protecting our members' personal information. We continually look for measures to help safeguard our members' personal and financial information and will be implementing two-step authentication for our online and mobile banking as of March 20, 2023, as part of that commitment.

You may have heard of two-factor authentication, also referred to as dual-factor authentication or two-step verification. All these terms mean the same thing. It's a security process where users provide two different authentication factors to verify their identity when signing into various online accounts or applications.

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security on top of the primary single-step method, where you'd only use a password to verify a sign-in. So, in addition to entering a correct password when two-step authentication is implemented, you will need to provide another factor (like a numerical code) before you can perform certain types of actions. This verification helps ensure that you, and only you, can assess your account.

When setting up two-factor authentication, you will need to choose an email address or mobile phone number to send the verification code. Most verification codes expire after a certain period. Therefore, select your primary mobile phone number or an email address you will always have access to when logging into your account.
